Ceuta will host the Cruise Forum 2017, a must for the nautical sector

The 25th of October will go down in the history of Ceuta as one of the most relevant dates for those involved in the nautical and cruise industry. The simple reason being that our city will be hosting this year’s Cruise Forum. And if this was not enough, we also have the great satisfaction of being one of the port agencies in Ceuta taking direct part in this event.

The Ceuta Cruise Forum 2017 has three well defined and equally relevant main points: to analyse the economic impact of the cruise industry in our country, to evaluate the roles played by each of the parties involved in the sector, and to treat the "Ceuta" destination as more than just a strategic stopover within the national cruise framework.

An industry constantly growing and changing

If the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) predictions are met, the cruise industry should close the present year 2017 with more than 25 million passengers. These figures, published last May in our country’s most prominent newspapers, reflect that the sector is in very good health.

To verify this annual growth, we only need to review the number of cruise passengers who passed through our country. Only in 2016, it exceeded eight and a half million cruise passengers in transit.

With ports that are perfectly equipped and prepared to host thousands of cruise passengers, and with interesting destinations of undeniable beauty (in which to spend the night or a few hours enjoying the local tourist attractions), undoubtedly, the cruise sector continues to grow year after year in our country.

"Spain boasts a good position among the issuing markets of USA, UK, Germany, the Scandinavian countries, Italy, France and Russia. Currently, the world's quota is more than 300 cruise ships and a forecast to build 70 more cruise ships by 2022", stated the organizers of the Ceuta Cruise Forum 2017.

Ceuta, a destination that will make a difference

Conscious that Ceuta is much more than a strategic location in the Strait of Gibraltar, the organizers of the Ceuta Cruise Forum 2017 (including our ship fuelling agency in Ceuta) have scheduled a day full of conferences and lectures given by the heavyweights of the cruise industry. These forums will be addressed to all those local services who "can benefit from cruise passengers arriving in Ceuta".

It is expected that the representatives of the city’s main hotels, as well as museums, guilds (such as taxis), restaurants and other relevant sectors in Ceuta, participate actively in a day that will start at the Puerta de Africa Hotel, early in the morning and until noon.

"The event will focus on how the port and auxiliary industry, investments, tourism itself and tourism services have been prepared to ensure the satisfaction of cruise passengers, by providing insight into this industry, that stimulates the economies of cruise destinations and unveil the keys to the industry’s growth", as pronounced by the event’s organization.
