NEWS LIST

Being an international company located in the Strait of Gibraltar, the world’s main maritime motorway, Salama closes thousands of international agreements every year, and since they are signed digitally (in many cases), we bargain on very high-quality standards as far as security is concerned.

The cruise season in the city of Ceuta was officially inaugurated weeks ago, with the visit of the Pacific Princess Cruise Ship, and will continue with the arrival of other top-rated cruises, such as the Oosterdam and the Westerdam, in the coming months of May and June.

Although the great majority of citizens of Ceuta have not been aware of it, this North African city is shaping one of the most ambitious and relevant projects carried out in the last 20 years: the expansion of the third alignment of the Poniente Dock (yes, the well-known "Puntilla Pier"), which is now 9 meters deep and will be approximately 12.5 meters after completion.

With the clear objective of being more than a meeting point for the main agencies offering bunkering services for ships, the International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) is counting the days left for the celebration of its new global event, taking place on the 20th and until the 22nd of February in London, a capital that is particularly notable in the international maritime sector.

Good news for our city, and excellent ones for port agencies in Ceutalike ours. Last 9th of December (less than a month from starting the current year 2017), the Salama team learned the latest data provided by Puertos del Estado (State Ports), where it was pointed out that, in 2016, container freight traffic had registered an increase of 37.4% with more than 130,000 tons transported.

The Christmas holidays are just around the corner and it’s time to choose a destination; a decision that is particularly relevant if you travel on your sailboat or a private yacht. Although Spain boasts countless coastal areas, Salama wagers on our local offer and heartily recommends a unique and completely different destination: our city of Ceuta.

The Strait of Gibraltar, considered to be the world’s main maritime artery, is a field of operations where thousands of ships sail per year, meaning all sorts of different actions are carried out. Unknown to most, these activities go beyond "simply sailing through its waters" or a "port layover"; e.g., one of the more complex operations is the so-called Off Port Limits layover. What does it really entail and what kind of ships can request this service?

They say that sailing is one of those unforgettable experiences. That it’s highly recommended for those seeking to relax and to enjoy the sea; that ships crossing the ocean are the perfect way to disconnect during holidays on your own or with family and friends... However, what does it mean to work on a ship? What are its consequences? Can it be considered a "relaxing" experience?

With summer beyond the horizon and after successfully closing the relevant Paso del Estrecho Operation - the main maritime operation in Europe as far as passenger traffic is concerned - the agencies in the port of Ceuta start the new season with a planning full of operations.

Whether it’s a cargo ship, a passenger ship or a small sailboat, when a vessel requests Salama’s services, they usually do it for very specific reasons. These services are similar in most cases
